Ancient monuments have been found deep in Brú na Bóinne!
Dr Steve Davis of the UCD School of Archaeology, has released the recent findings of early Neolithic houses to Neolithic timber enclosures as well as Bronze Age burial monuments and some early medieval farmsteads in the Brú na Bóinne area.
Thanks to the “Boyne to Brodgar project”, pieces of irish history are brought back to day light. In fact, a whole team of archeologists with heavy equipment is looking for buried remains for the past five years. Using large-scale geophysical imaging machine, they can survey up to 25 hectares a day.
What a great day it is to commemorate how our ancestors lived. Let’s hope we find more!
