One of Belfast's most iconic buildings, Belfast City Hall first opened its doors in August 1906 and is Belfast's civic building.

Departing early morning, your first stop is Belfast City, a city that is rich in heritage, which offers a host of vibrant cultural and artistic experiences for you to enjoy. Arriving here first allows you to enjoy a 2-hour stop to stretch your legs and soak up the atmosphere of what once was a well-divided city.

Here we recommend you to take the Black Taxi Tour with Taxi Tours NI a tour which will bring you along Shankill Road, allowing you the chance to view the murals of troubled times and also the Peace Wall. It is a personalised taxi tour with detailed first hand a tales and stories on how Belfast City was and still is shaped by the Irish troubles and is a must-do when in the city of Belfast!

See the Belfast Peace Walls on a fully guided Black Taxi Tour of Belfast. This can be purcased on the day your take our tour from Dublin.

Or you can visit the ever-popular museum called the Titanic Experience which has been opened to document the story of Belfast, its shipyard and the Titanic ship. Here you can dive into the Ship Fact Files for fascinating trivia about many other great ships built in the famous Harland and Wolff shipyard and explore exclusive Titanic Stories – original pieces of research on the world’s most famous ship.

H&W shipyard, once a strong source of employment in the city, is the birthplace of the iconic ship the Titanic.

Next, Dunluce Castle, first built on the dramatic coastal cliffs of north County Antrim by the MacQuillan family around 1500. It was then seized by the ambitious MacDonnell clan in the 1550’s, who set about stamping their mark on the castle under the leadership of the famous warrior chieftain Sorely Boy MacDonnell during an era of violence, intrigue and rebellion.

See Dunluce Castle, famed as the House of Greyjoy in the hit Tv Series Game of Thrones.

Next, on this tour, you will visit the Giants Causeway, which of course is one of the highlights of this trip. The Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped rocks that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea. This formation has been astounding generations.

Enjoy a two hour stop at the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped rocks that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea.

Next on the tour is White Park Bay is a bay and three-mile-long beach located near Ballycastle, County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland, along the Giant’s Causeway Coastal Route. Sheep and cattle graze the hills and beach along the bay, which has been under the care of the National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty since 1938. Providing the perfect photo-opportunity!

After your short ‘city-break’ comes to an end, we will then take a drive along the Northern Irish countryside visiting the picturesque Northern Ireland countryside which looks like it comes straight out of a storybook. Before arriving back in Dublin to enjoy a pint of the black stuff and toast to a wonderful and memorable day outside the city!
